I thought I posted this Monday but can't seem to find it. My son is moving home from school in May. He has a car but ALL of the "stuff" that he has accumulated over the years will not fit in his car- esp. the big screen TV. Even if I drove there to help, my car will not fit the TV. Any suggestions? Should I hire a mover, Uhaul or just sell the TV?

I've had to ship some odd, some fragile, and some large items to my kids, (although not as big as a wide-screen tv!). Here are my suggestions:

Our local pack-and-ship place can professionally pack large items, even crate them if necessary. Check around at these types of places near his school.

Check out FedEx GROUND (as opposed to the overnight/air services). Not sure if they'll take something as big as the tv, but we've saved tons with them over the last 6 years.

Can you add a hard-shell rooftop carrier to one of the cars?
