MS Biotechnology

I'm interested in applying next year for one of these programs (at Keck, UPenn, or Northwestern) but I'm not sure if the cost will be worth it compared to other master degrees or a Phd. It seems like at Keck at least there is a chance for fellowships but, I do not believe that I would get one due to my low GPA of 3.1. The MS in Biotechnology seems like a good fit for me though because I'm interested in both the science and business but, I do not want to spend ~5 years getting a Phd from a mediocre program. I guess my other option would be to get some more research experience and see if the masters would really be useful.

Anyone have any experience with these programs? I'm hesitant about the masters in biotechnology because I haven't heard of many places recommending it or know anyone that has gotten one.

Hi, I came across this thread while doing my little research on Master programs in Biotechnology. I’m debating between MS in BIotech and MS in Biochemistry. I’m curious what decision you made in the end. Did you get into a biotechnology program? How did it work out? Could you give me some advice on which program is more likely to help me land a job in biotech/pharma industries? Thank you!
