MSF after MBA

I am currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program where I am studying Accounting and Marketing. However I am interested in pursuing a career in finance. Therefore I am looking into applying to a master's of finance program after I finish the MBA. PRograms that I am looking at are the MSF at Boston College, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, and the U of Utah. Does it make since to do another year of school and get the MSF or would it not be worth it? Would it be worth going to either of those four schools I listed?

Does your school offer a MSF/MBA dual degree? My wife just started at Northeastern and is doing that. I think it’s only a few extra classes.

Redundant isnt it? typically you will do one or the other.

No, I dont think it’s redundant. Your core MBA classes contain finance classes and the purpose of the MBA is to expose you to a wide variety of business aspects. Add a few more in depth finance courses and now you’ve got an MBA and MS in Finance.

sorry i need to clarify, if you want to change schools and get a second masters degree i think it would be redundant. from what i am told you either get an MSF or an MBA with Finance focus.

I couldnt imagine graduating with that much in student loan debt with todays economy and lack of jobs available.
