My daughter got the email couple of hours ago. she made it to the round 3 and there may be a in person or phone interview
My son also received an email earlier this week saying that there were over 600 applicants for the program this year, that he had made it into the top 15% of applicants and that he may be contacted to schedule an in-person or phone interview in the coming weeks. So as I understand it, it’s far from a done deal for now, but at least he can feel good about having his application acknowledged in this way.
Anyone willing to share their resume I dont need a name just what is it that they did to make it to HOPP, I have another child in who is interested in HOPP in next year, any advice is greatly appreciated
It’s not at all a done deal–far from it–and if he doesn’t get it this year my son may apply again next year, but for what it’s worth, and as far as I can tell, these are his basic “qualifications.” He has excellent grades at an extremely rigorous, science-oriented public high school in Manhattan; he received a perfect score on the SAT Subject Test in Biology; he’s done meaningful community service; he has a true passion for science and compelling personal reasons for wanting to do cancer research, both of which were explained in his essays. I haven’t seen his recommendations but I imagine they were both very strong. I had some reservations about his committing a full 8 weeks of the summer to this–I think he needs a little time to decompress–but he wants to do it so strongly that I am just praying he gets it. Fingers crossed.
Just received email stating my daughter was accepted into the program. She’s super excited.
My daughter was accepted into the program. We live in NJ so I am looking for temp housing for her. Anyone has any suggestion? Thanks.
I just got an email two days ago that I was accepted into the program, very excited! However, does any one know what the expected start date is? I am aware that orientation is June 28th, but has the official start date of the program been released?
