I heard back today from the message I left on Friday. “Those students” were reviewed and will here a decision at the end of the week. My daughter’s audition was Feb 2nd, so I guess she was waitlisted and we had no idea. I wanted to share in case anyone else is still waiting.
(hear a decision) I think I am finally losing my mind. Lol

Bet you didn’t hear anything, neither did we. Moving on
No news.
Any news from MT or acting dept yet?
Ok I need to vent… I emailed three different people about my audition results and got no response. I then finally called and the guy told me I would hear in a couple days… well, two and a half weeks later I got the “no” I have been waiting for. The email came around noon today. I learned that they have been having problems with their portal system from the call I made. But I feel that they could at least email people back. I feel ignored and it just makes me not interested in their school anymore.
@SB252001 this is not new with Montclair. My D had an awful time finding out stuff from them & that was 2 seasons ago! So I’m not really buying the “ portal problem “ excuse lol
My daughter finally found out a “no” but I do believe we were meant to be left hanging and would have never received an answer (or socks ?). Still no socks. ? The woman from admissions that gave us false hope over Easter was clearly just saying that she was “still being considered” and would get an answer by the end of the week. We now know that was not true. No calls at the end of last week. Since my D auditioned on February 2nd and according to the admissions message “a decision was being made” in late April, it sounded to us like a classic waitlist situation.
Knowing full well there was a possibility that it was a “no” and the answer just never made it over, my daughter made a bold move. On Friday afternoon, she sent Heather Benton an email saying she was delighted that she was still being considered and would love to sit in on a class and shadow a BFA student during April break this week. Wouldn’t you know that on Tuesday morning she woke up to an email from Miss Benton apologizing that it was a “no” all along and she should have been told sooner. It is interesting that the head of Acting had this information yet two months of emails and messages to numerous people were unable to yield my D a reply.
I wish you all the best for your students!!! I hold a BFA in Acting from MSU Class of 97. I certainly never expected special favors for my daughter especially in such a competitive major with such a highly demanding program, but the way in which we and others have been treated is unacceptable and an embarrassment.
