MT Parents/Students HS Class of 2013: College Process Sharing/Discussion

hawaiimtmom - I sent you a PM with contact info. Look forward to connecting.

Northern Colorado will be at unifieds in Chicago (not officially) on Monday.
You can call the MT dept for info on how to schedule a time.

alibabba808, I tried to reply to your PM but the site still tells me I’m too new. I need 15 posts to PM. I’ll keep trying. Only 12 to go  And your email address does not show in entirety for me. Nothing but asterisks after the @. CC is tough on newcomers.

md311mt, thanks for the info on Northern Colorado. I didn’t see that anywhere on their website. We’ll look into it.

Okay, that’s a relief alibabba. I did think I was kind of losing it . . . haha!

Well, the day has come - put my daughter and her mom on a plane bound for Elon U for auditions tomorrow. Guess we’re officially in the game!

We just boarded for the same destination. Here we go!

We are driving to Philly tomorrow for my son’s first audition on Saturday at UArts. Best of luck to everyone auditioning this weekend.

Break a Leg to all as you start the audition process! Jeffandann and md311mt, hope it goes well! Both of our sons auditioned at Elon - we loved each trip! Our first trip out there was their first date in late October. This is a great time of year out there. PelkyAgain, it should be a nice day here on Saturday! Have fun!

Starting to move items from the “to do” pile . . to the “DONE!” pile.

Yippee!

Best jeffandann and md311mt! My D auditioned last year for Elon and was accepted to the BFA MT program and was selected as one of the Fellows. It was in her top 2 schools until the very end of her decision process. Beautiful campus.

Pelky, we’ll be in Philly at UArts on Saturday, too. Good luck!

Tell us what happens- all the details!!

Sending best wishes to all of your kids who are starting on their audition season. And so it begins. I will enjoy following your journey this year and can tell that you all seem to have a bunch of talented kids. Things will play out and work out and I can’t wait to welcome you to “the other side.”

Actually my daughter already auditioned at Point Park, so this won’t be her first. She had a great time there and met some really nice kids, but she said the dance audition was hard!

For those auditioning at UArts this weekend, if you would like suggestions for restaurants and things to do once the auditions are finished, or have questions about student life in Philly, feel free to ask. My daughter graduated from UArts in 2011 and my office is one block away from the Terra Building.

OK, MichaelNKat, is there a place near UArts to get an all-fruit fruit smoothie? - like a Jamba Juice or something like that?

Try Red Mango at 15th and Locust Sts for fruit and non-fat yogurt smoothies. Smoothie King 1625 Chestnut St. Honey Grow at 16th and Sansom for smoothies you can get with just fresh fruit and ice. I’ve been to Red Mango and Honey Grow and can vouch for the quality.

Woo, thank you!! You just saved me a ton of time. After Point Park, we searched all over the place before we found one!

There is also the Amazon Cafe in the food court of the Bellevue Hotel, right across Broad Street from UArts’ Terra Building where your audition is being held. It slipped my mind last night.

This was the first weekend of auditions for my D 3 years ago. Hard to believe it was that long ago and she is now a college junior. Sending good wishes to all and looking forward to following your journeys!
