Hey everyone, especially the incoming class of 2015!

I'm sure many of you have heard about Muggle Quidditch, but in case you haven't, or you haven't heard about our team, I want to give you some information. Muggle Quidditch is based upon the game as created by J.K. Rowling, but there are obvious differences. We play on the ground, of course, but almost everything else is ...the same: chasers carry the quaffle to try to score in the opponent's hoops, and keepers defend the quaffle. Beaters throw bludgers at the opponent's players (when hit, a player must return to and touch their hoops). And the seekers seek the snitch to catch it, get 30 points for their team, and end the game. The snitch is an impartial person who is dressed in yellow.

Here's some more information that wouldn't fit above: UM has a relatively new Quidditch team, but we are definitely going places. This year, we won the International Quidditch Association's South Regional (essentially the equivalent of winn...ing the ACC, for comparison) and this year we are registered to attend the World Cup in New York City. Our players will, of course, receive free transportation to and housing in New York City. One of my favorite parts of Muggle Quidditch is how great all of the members all. Everyone gets along incredibly well, the weekend trips that we take to tournaments are some of the greatest weekends of my life. When we're not away at tournaments, we frequently have weekly game nights and this year we actually have a Special Interest Housing floor in Mahoney where many of us will be living together.

So, If you're interested in joining the team to play quidditch, or just looking to meet some really cool people, please go to [url=http://www.mqum.org/?page=newmember]Muggle Quidditch at the University of Miami/url and submit your information.
