Wegmans is indeed great, although when we have eaten there we have always bought too much food.

Teri- She is in a brain injury unit within a traditional hospital setting. They offer rehab for both TBI, and strokes. The next step will be either home with out patient rehab (if she qualifies it is an intensive 6 hour a day program, three days a week) or a nursing home if her family feels they cannot care for her. She also has some limited sessions of OT and PT in a home setting- I think a total of 24 sessions. What she needs is clearly beyond wheat the insurance offcially offers, but it behooves them to offer her care so she can become self reliant, and right now she will have used up her in patient rehab early next week, but the hospital social worker is negotiating Dr. to Dr. with the insurance company to extend her stay another three weeks. Every day counts, and is important for her future.

Her family is going to do anything they can and need to do, to make sure she continues to get the care she needs. It has now been over 6 months since her accident. The truly amazing thing is the changes and improvement in only the last month, since she offcially emerged from her coma. Thank you so much for that carepage info. It has been heartbreaking to read so many other stories that have not had such a positive outcome. Right now we just remain optimistic, and try to keep her healthy and working hard.

The Skype idea is a great one, especially for next spring, when my D will be in Australia. She had planned this semester abroad with the friend who had the accident, and wanted to still go "for her", but I know it's going to be even harder to be so far away then.
