I know Middlebury has great performing arts facilities and whatnot, but what is it like to actually participate in their groups (specifically choir, if you know)? Is it very hard to get into choirs? I'm especially interested in those cute little rockapella type groups, but I consider myself a lover of singing rather than some kind of great standout singer. Then...individual performing type things. Just basically, what are one's options and how easy is it to be a part of the performing world at midd?

Choir is important to me, too--I'm in Concert Choir and Chamber Singers at my HS, and I want to stay involved in college. I visited Midd last spring and sat in on a choir rehearsal, and I came away with a good feeling. There are lots of performance opportunities all around, and all levels of singing are accepted (I think). Everyone is really friendly and non-competetive about it, too, which makes it fun!

yay!

(it makes me feel not-yay that collegeconfidential doesn't approve of making a sound of joy every now and then, without some sort of long drawn out over-ten-character explanation)

:)

Oh, I totally just discovered what you meant...I guess a smiley face isn't adequate, either. :(
