Music at Public Universities

Thanks for these additional suggestions! Gettysburg would be very easy for us to visit so maybe I’ll add it to the tentative list.

He hasn’t actually discussed any of this with his private teacher yet so that would be a good place to start (especially so he can choose and work on additional audition pieces).

I think he may be looking for a place where he could also take classes in music technology or audio production as well, which I know is harder to find. I need to pick the boy’s brain a little more but he seems to have constant jazz band practice this week!

With his stats he should get good merit at Duquesne.

I happened to come back to this thread for some reason, just idling on a Sunday morning, and found myself wishing your son would end up going for a BM- and there was your post! That is excellent news! He does sound like an excellent player and a very hard worker Going to a program this summer will help clarify his list, and inspire him too. He can apply to reaches, matches and safeties and see where he lands. (And top grad school students come from all different schools.)
