Music Business/ Music General programs, no audition?

Hi there!

I am a junior in high school and music is my passion. I am very confident in my abilities and believe if I put 100% into it I could get into many audition programs for a Music Business or a General Music degree. However, I have terrible stage fright and feel like I would totally choke on an audition.

What schools are available to me where I would not need to audition? I would prefer to stay in PA but if there is something really good elsewhere I am open to that. My SAT scores were 2100 and my GPA is 3.40 as of now, if that helps at all.

Let me know! :)

Drexel University

Yeah I like Drexel, but it’s a crazy expensive school. I’m planning on applying but I doubt I would attend unless I got a TON of FA

They may involve auditions but both are very supportive and nurturing places: Susquehanna and Gettysburg.

Since you’re a junior there’s definitely room to grow and overcome your stage fright- often auditions are in a very comfortable setting in a room with a couple other people. I would try not to overlook programs you’re interested in just because an audition stands in the way! If you’re truly passionate, that will show.

Really looking for some safety schools here! Help me out guys!

SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oneonta have no audition programs in music industry. College of St Rose has an audition program but it is less competitive and they give excellent financial aid.

Middle Tennessee State requires an audition but will admit on a provisional basis if the audition doesn’t go well.
