Hi everybody, I'm in kind of a dilemma. Hope you guys can help me out.

I'm about to graduate college with a non-music bachelor's degree. Before college, I was immensely involved with music and wasn't bad at it (principal french horn, drum major, etc, etc, etc). I never thought of a career in music because of a variety of reasons (family/societal pressure, unstable job prospects, etc etc etc).

I had tried a variety of career internships and jobs, and they all promised bright futures if I stuck with them. Unfortunately, none of them were fulfilling and I was unhappy. After 5 years of unhappiness, I have deteriorated mentally and physically. It took me this long to realize that music is an integral part of my life; nothing else would fulfill me like music does.

Here's my question to you guys: What can I do now? I'm not interested in performance, but perhaps composition/conducting/musical theater directing. Does it look like I have to apply to bachelor's in music programs, or could I study by myself for a couple of years and apply to master's programs? (if some programs require a performance audition for acceptance, i'm sure i could practice enough to be pretty good)

Hope you all can help, thanks so much in advance.
