Music Education colleges in the Northeast

Hello all,
I am eager to hear any feedback in regard to audition experiences at Providence College, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Hofstra, Ihaca, Hofstra, New Hampshire or Vermont.
If anyone can suggest other schools where they have seen good presentations and had good or negative experiences, please share.
My daughter plays the violin, is motivated and looking for a balanced campus.
Please advise!!
Thanks.

Suggest you post the question in the music majors forum. [Music Major - College Confidential](Music Major - College Confidential Forums)

Also on the page review the sticky threads and the featured discussions. A lot of good information there.

Consider Susquehanna, Moravian and Muhlenberg

If your daughter is conservatory quality, there are a number of schools in the Boston area. New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Boston University (which has the oldest degree program in music), etc.

Another top program is Rochester’s Eastman School.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by the exact question about experiences.

I posted this on the Music Major forum so I hope it is not a problem putting it here also. This site can help you find out what music schools are anywhere in the USA. It really My D when going from Canada to the US

Another great resource for the music student and the string student in particular, is the annual Stings magazine and/or the Strad’s issue with a listing of music programs. If you don’t subscribe, the each has searchable online datbases. Strings: [Strings: Music School Directory](<a href=“Search Results for “msd/default.aspx]Strings:” – Strings Magazine”>Search Results for “msd/default.aspx” – Strings Magazine) and Strad: [The Strad](http://www.thestrad.com/nDegrees.asp)

Many thanks.
