Music Major plus another major: Does this idea sound impossible to do successfully?

I would look into the requirements to get a master’s degree in history. You might find that to get a masters degree, that you only need 24 to 30 credits in history…NOT a history undergraduate degree. If that is the case, then it would be easier to pursue the BM degree plus a minor in history (taking as many history credits to fulfill the requirement for grad school) and then for the 5th year, pursue a masters.

I’m considering the same thing except for a master’s degree. I’m an undergrad music education major and am considering becoming a college music teacher (although I’m not sure that’s what I want to do), but I also want to explore the possibility of performing in musical theater. So I want to get a master’s degree in musical theater, but I’m afraid this will make me less eligible for a PhD in music ed or conducting.

So, wondering if it is at all possible to do an MFA or MM in musical theater plus an MM in conducting or music ed?

Well, see I want to go to grad school after for my masters in piano, and doing a masters in history…I don’t know if I will. My parents are basically requiring me to do the 2nd major in undergrad, so I don’t know…plus the 2 colleges I’m looking at don’t offer a masters in history- they are undergrad only.
