Is there anyone I can connect with that plans on majoring in Music and plans on applying to colleges and conservatories like Juilliard, Curtis, Peabody, Eastman?
FYI: I am a Composition Major.

Hello, I am also an intended music major for high school class '14.
Planning on majoring in violin performance!

Compomser1996, you have posted before and told us that you are a "highly capable "composer, and that you are taking AP theory. Can you tell us a little more about your musical background and experiences, and what kind of music you compose, composers you admire, college and career goals, and so on? Have your compositions been performed? Have you done summer programs or do you have a teacher? What will your portfolio be like?

It’s mostly- not all - parents on here. What are you looking for in posting on the CC music forum? Companionship and support, advice, information on schools?

We would like to respond helpfully if possible.

check out NEC’s contemporary improvisation department. There is a lot of exciting work being done there. If you are interested in innovation in composition then NEC is a great fit. If you are more conservative in your approach then you might be happier at another conservatory.

Hey there! I’m ideally going to be a viola performance major, and I’m in your year. I’m auditioning to several top programs next year - Juilliard, Colburn, Rice, USC, etc.
