Every kid I have ever known to apply to Pace got academic $$ there- even the one with the 19 on his ACT (and had grades to match). Check COA though- I think the dorms etc may be pricey
Otterbein has nice merit/talent money, and it is less expensive that many LACs ($42k including room and board).
TCU offers good merit scholarships and talent scholarships can be stacked as well.
My daughter has almost full, 95%, tuition at LIU Post. But that is academic, not talent. She did ok for talent. Test scores are where the big money is.
A school with lower ACT score but excellent MT is something to look for.
Full rides, with room and board included are hard to come by since the recession
I can’t thank you enough, winnieroot, SongnDanceMom, Reckless, toowonderful, jabpmom, stmama, vvnstar, mom4bwayboy. We will leave no stone unturned in order to make college happen for d.
I just posted in another thread about the changes at University of Arizona MT. New staff, new classes, etc… I’m hoping their reps get on here soon and tell us about it. But I got to chat with them recently and they told me they can offer pretty generous academic and talent scholarships to kids. Keep it on your radar to research this one.
My D’s friend was just accepted into the U Arizona program in June … and including her friend we saw they only have 10 students this year. I think they hurt themselves with their wait list. It’s not a top program and they use the wait list system … they would be better off offering spots to more than they want to give as they will have attrition. At least until they rebuild their program. I will say though we know 5 of the 10 in the program and all of them are extremely talented.
Not uncommon for new and/or revamped programs to have some growing pains in the first few years getting their yields just right. Still gonna be interesting to watch how this program gains steam!
