Musical Theater

ok, so ive been involved in my town's musical theater group for 4 years now (trumpet in the orchestra) and it's really starting to grow on me. Is there a big theater scene at MIT? Ill be a freshman this fall, but im not planning on pursuing a performing minor or anything. is there some theater group that allows one to join, regardless of their amount of experience or expertise? btw, ill be rooming in next house- which i hear also has some production every year. umm also, is there any opera group- im kinda interested in getting into that too- but only for orchestra - no singing for me :)

Lots of theater options here. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but these links that will get you started in the right direction:

Ha, well...I'll be doing a lot of musical theater, because I love it.

I saw a rendition of Company by the Musical Theatre Guild and it was quite good.

Ben got to this one first, it seems.

Welcome to CC Mike - and ignore the extra "that" in my sentence above... d'oh!

Ha, thanks. Figured I'd join after lurking for over 8 months :p

MIT Musical Theatre Guild's fall show is Star Wars: The Musical. How awesome is that?

that's sweet. haha, you would never find something like that in my town- we only do so-called "classics." my town's youth theater organization just had its 40th anniversary last week- pretty cool
