Musical theatre programs not in top 10

@All4FSU works at FSU and is very knowledgeable and helpful on all things Florida State. My S was admitted to FSU and they did grant him a waiver which resulted in almost the equivalent of in-state tuition, I believe.

I am the Director of Academic & Student Services for the School of Theatre at FSU, so Iā€™m pretty biased when it comes to what the program is like (LOL) but if you contact me directly, Iā€™d be glad to put you in touch with a couple of students who can answer your questions. We encourage them to be frank about the good, the bad and the ugly, as it were.
As for the waiver; every out-of-state student admitted to MT receives a waiver of 50% of the out-of-state portion of the tuition for talent. Some will receive 100% waiver for exceptional academics. In addition, there is departmental scholarship money awarded on a year-by-year basis; the amounts vary. As MTDadandProud stated above, we try to get it as close to in state as we can.
Please donā€™t hesitate to ask questions- I donā€™t check this Forum every day and I donā€™t always get the email notifications, so if I donā€™t respond, email me directly.

Hereā€™s an article recommending ā€œhidden gemā€ BFA programs. Itā€™s part one of a series of four articles focusing on different parts of the country. This part is on BFA programs in the south. https://performerstuff.com/mgs/top-college-theatre-programs-you-might-not-know-but-should-part-1-the-southern-schools/?fbclid=IwAR1Jj5MLzuvt6_k3Kh7KmTASbGUSSHQTxxclfs6OGlZIOvR2MtD3SAy8bms

@All4FSU Are you still accepting applications? Will you be at LA Unifieds?

@NeensMom
Music Theatre only has auditions on campus (BFA Acting attends Unifieds) and we are fully booked for this year.
