Many of us on here live in a wealthy suburbs where it feels like kids are tutored from birth in everything from how to hold a lacrosse stick to academic courses. SAT prep is a small part of the rigorous load of extracurriculars these kids manage in an effort to stand out in an increasingly competitive world. The system is wildly unequal and out of balance. And money does buy opportunity. Superb writing by the young man.

I saw that but that is the financial aid forum. This piece is addressing far more than SAT and financial aid, it’s about a knowledge and resource gap between low income and the wealthy who understand and benefit from the system. It’s interesting to consider about how much savvy and knowhow we on here may take for granted.
