My 18th Bday DANCE PARTY - need help with party planning

Hey guys!

I'm hosting my first ever big dance party at my house for about 60-70 people.

Friends are coming dressed in semi-formal clothing, it'll be in January so pretty cold outside. But the dance is taking place in my backyard which is now transformed into an all covered patio w/ disco ball!!!

What are some activities you think all or most of the guests would enjoy doing? Let me know what the "ideal" party agenda would look like. Include foods...games...anything!

thanks 4 helping me make my bday party a blast!

sweet. parents or no parents? That is the question.

Games? I figured everyone would be dancing, talking, or making out. Well if some want to play Xbox

Karaoke!!

mix pink lemonade and sprite :D
made sure nothing else is mixed into that...

NO KARAOKE

ANYTHING would be better, that's a promise.

yes the parentals will be there so it'd more more of a nice classy fun party and not a drinking making out trashing the house party. But don't let that limit ur ideas!!! :D :D :D

hmmm...karaoke...do only the brave people do that? how bout the quiet ppl what do we do ab them?

I don't think you really need to try hard. Just have good music and food and everyone will just chill.

make sure you invite at least 5-10 people that can dance well and can get others to dance, otherwise it can get awkward.

An XBox or Playstation wrong is never a bad idea.

Depending on how dorky your friends are (lots of mine are pretty dorky:)):

DDR
Scrabble
Trivial Pursuit

For just about anyone, you can go with good food and good music, and it'll all work itself out. I was trying to figure out how you were planning to have this outside, and thinking you were crazy...and then I remembered that not everyone lives in Maine :).

Go for at least 10-20 awesome dancers.

so..
1. karaoke
2. good music
3. good dancers
4. ddr

thanks guys!

But what kind of game/activity gets everyone involved from the loudest to the shyest.

Do you remember any silly childhood games? (twister...red rover...etc etc)

scrabble at a dance party? LOL

although i did see a special on the news the other day about professional scrabble players and they're definitely hardcore

and yes twister is good, taboo is also a lot of fun.

keeping teens entertained...hope it isn't too hard!

i have many ideas but none of them can be done when the parental units are present ;) sry

NO!!!! let me hear the ideas anyway!!!

airght you asked for it. One time I played this game called Drunkuards truth or dare. Now that was something. So we had what like 6 guys and something like 7 girls. We played truth and dare when drunk. I think no one in that party had their clothes on through the entire night. Laps around the house, making out girl/girl, guy/guy (i gladly didnt partake in this :) :) very grateful), singing in the nude (I sadly had to partake in this one :() And then we chillaxed. No no one had sex or took advantage of another person which I find very surprising considering the alohol level at that party achieved levels only reached at UofColorado frat parties :). But yea it was hilarious later on. I wasnt really super drunk....think highly buzzed. Yea thats one example I have tons lol.

I would sing in the nude sober even without a dare. That's fantastic!
Anyone want to start a nudists' colony with me?

hahahha WOW u brave soul! so drinking actually got most everyone to eliminate self-consciousness!!??

OK, we had a hawaiian themed party at the beginning of the school year, everyone had to wear hawaiian clothes.....basically for a good party you need good music like hip hop, rap and rock, a swimming pool, some games like twister and alcohol.......you will need beer pongs, and as Mahras pointed out, there will be games like truth or dare......also if the weather is hot where you live....like I live in singapore....guys who are drunk will take off their shirts and start dancing......then other people will join them......and you will have awesome time...people can also hang out by the pool...
