My admission and scholarship chances!

Hey, I am an international student from Pakistan. I have applied to Drexel and was wondering what my admission and scholarship chances are:

SAT Reasoning test: 2030 ( 580 CR, 680 Writing, 770 Maths)
SAT subject tests: 2310 ( 760 Physics, 770 Chemistry, 780 Maths Level 2)
TOEFL: Took on 12th Jan 2013. ( Result Pending)
O levels: 7 As and 3 A's
AS levels: 1 A and 2 A's.
If I convert my grades into GPA, it will be around 3.8-4.0 according to one online converter.
Good recommendations
Some good EC's and some other achievements.
I have applied for electrical engineering with 3 Co-op option.

Plz tell me what are my chances? How much scholarship should I expect to get, If I get any?

Anyone please?

SAT456, did you apply elsewhere??

Drexel is not for you. You are too good an applicant to worry about getting into Drexel!!
You’ll mostly get a full ride!!

My advice - leave Drexel and go dig gold elsewhere!! :)

Edit: Ohh - Your CR score seems a tad bit low though. But I guess TOEFL will cover that up!!

Hey Rishav17,

Are u a student at Drexel? I was worried because of my CR score.

Thanks btw.

Nope - just another applicant.

But believe me when I say you WILL get in.

A 100+ on TOEFL will be more than enough!!

Rishav17,

Can I ask your stats?

Ya I am hoping for a 100+ on TOEFL. I just don’t have to get in but I need a good amount of scholarship as well.

In the common app application, I was asked whether I intend to apply for need based aid in Drexel university? I said NO since Drexel does not give need based aid to internationals.

Have I done the correct thing? Please reply!

^ Well, Drexel offers aid only to select ED Intn’l candiidates and none for RD candidates - so it doesn’t matter!!

And my stats are quite similar but I have very low school grades!!

A 2030 will probably get you admitted. The notion of a full ride is not realistic.

Well I don’t necessarily want a full ride. I am in need of atleast 60-70% coverage of my tuition fees only. Is that realistic rebel?

I really don’t know. Thats a conversation you need to have with Drexel.

@ SAT456 - did you apply for any full tuition or partial tuition scholarships?? If not then the maximum entrance scholarship one gets ~ 60% (no full rides). Though, only time will tell if you will get a 60% schol!!
And where else did you apply??

Alternatively - you can work out a loan, if you don’t get the scholarship & then once in college, you can try and channel in funds from departmental scholarships, etc.!!

@Rishav17,

We are automatically considered for partial scholarships. I will apply for full tuition scholarship once I get Drexel id. I have not yet received details of my Drexel account. I submitted my app on 15th January. Do you have any idea when will I get those details? I mean what is the approximate time after submitting the app?

I applied to following schools in addition to Drexel:

1) Union college
2) Trinity college
3) Case Western Reserve University
4) USF
5) Yale University
6) Ohio Wesleyan
7) Harvard College
8) Bucknell University

^ Yes and no. We are considered for partial entrance scholarships. But there are quite a few other partial/full scholarships which require another application.

I got my applicant ID within 3 days, but that was way back in November!!

Ohh nice list. Yale & Harvard seem reaches. But CWRU, Ohio Wesleyan, Union, Bucknell and USF are all matches, if not safeties!!
You’re sure to get a lot of acceptances!! :)

Hopefully!

Can you please tell me which partial or full scholarships are you talking about? The global leaders scholarship require an application. But, what other scholarships require an app?

^ I was talking about Drexel Global and a few others!!
