<p>I "applied" for an apartment the first week in July, thinking it would give the apartment complex enough time to get it ready. </p>
<p>NOT!!!!!!!!!!</p>
<p>I talked to them today and they said all they have to do is paint the place and get the thing inspected by the health department. AND, then they would call me, and she was implying next week. I am going to bug her again on Tuesday.</p>
<p>My very first grad class starts on Monday August 28, plus I really want to go to my departmental orientation on Saturday morning August 26th.</p>
<p>I don't know what to do. I really don't want to stay in a motel till my place is ready.</p>
<p>I haven't signed the lease. All I signed was an intent to rent and I really didn't read it, "I know, I know I should have", but it looked standard to me.</p>
<p>Anyone else in this boat. </p>
<p>I can't commute 750 miles one way.</p>
