My chance of getting in?

By the end of this year I will have a weighted gpa of 4.1 and a grand total of four honors courses completed. Next year I plan to take ap stat, Calc AB, ap bio, anatomy honors, English 4 honors, and Spanish 4 honors. I got a 1400 on my sat. I have been an active member for project unify for two years and math league for one year. Over the summer I will volunteer at a local hospital 4-5 times a week, 8 hours a day, for the entire month of July. Then I will intern at a peace museum for 3 weeks in August.

Is it probable that I will get in?

Sorry if I am asking too difficult of a question. Based on the average gpa and sat scores I appear to have a good chance of getting, but when I look at “similar colleges”, several Ivy Leagues and other top institutions appear. Why is it that their average gpa is only a 3.7 of it is such a good school? Am I misreading the statistics or is it that I’m simply making a mountain out of a molehill?

Thanks in advance.

You can cure World hunger and we still wouldn’t know if you will get in. Schools like when you dedicate your time to something you enjoy, not something you do just to put on your application which is what it sounds like you are doing. NYU isn’t really prestigious, but you can’t just get in with low marks. Gpa has little to do with a school being “good” as well. Many factors play into if you will get in or not.

I joined project unify to become more accepting and not only have I improved as a person, i have grown to enjoy working with our special Olympics athletes. Also, math is one of my favorite subjects, hence why I joined math league.

I want to have a career in medicine, hence why I am volunteering at the hospital. Furthermore, the Peace museum I will be interning at highlights the health and ecological repercussions of war, the latter being an aspect of science I’ve always been interested in.
