my chances at a 27? (lol i know)

i took the ACT on June 9th.

composite=24
English=28
math=24
reading=23
science=21

i used the Princeton book to study.it taught me techniques and everything.but when i took the test i noticed that the questions on there were much harder.

you guys have any tips for the reading section,also?

I'm going to use the real act book this time around to study and take it again in September.

english seems to be alright for you, just keep it up.

math is pretty much knowing how to do the topics covered on the ACT, which are always the same and in the same amounts.

reading i did the fourth passage first, second passage second, third passage third, and first passage last. i did this since the science passages are pretty much objective so you don't have to look for tone or any of that kind of stuff, so those are pretty straightforward. i just skimmed the first sentence or two of each paragraph and then went straight to the questions, just scanning to find the answer.

science is just getting used to analyzing the graphs quickly, without really reading the passages (except maybe the last one). i only read the information at the beginning when i just couldn't find something in the graphs, but that only happened once or twice.

also, keep good track of the time because that's pretty much the hardest part about the ACT - at least for the reading and science passage.

for reading practice the SAT reading passages, adjust the time limit for each passage (based on the number of ques for the passage). there should be tons of practice tests for the SATs so go the library or something and do them all. more u practice the better u get. it helped me a lot.
