My chances at Johns Hopkins

hola. I'm gonna be a senior....and I'm Asian -_-

GPA: 3.657 unweighted 3.868 weighted
SAT: 800 writing; 740 math; 590 cr o_O;; 2130 total (will retake in fall)
SAT IIs =( : 680 Biology; 650 mathiic; 670 lit
APs: 4 Bio, 4 US History; 3 Lang; 3 CalcAB

I don't wanna list out all the grades I got for my 3 years of HS...but basically I kicked ass Junior year (all A's with 3 APs) and I failed miserabley 2nd semester of my Sophomore year (a C in Journalism and pre-calc). My excuse? I moved from CA to CO after living in the same house all my life and I guess the thought of leaving preoccupied me. Oops.

EC's and awards (eek)

Volunteered at a hospital during 9th and 10th grade: 160 hours
Will have completed 100 hours of internship in the ER of a hospital at the end of this summer
On the tennis team, 11th grade (JV)
Small award in math, 11th grade
Athletic Letter Award, 11th
Academic Champions, First team in state, 11th (not as big as it sounds)
Academic Letter Award, will get beginning of 12th grade (for getting straight A's during 11th grade)

Will be taking 4 APs senior year...

ahhh this sucks. But yeah, what are my chances at JHU if I even have any?? Oh and consider both ED and regular apps

If you're entirely set on JHU, present the best application you can muster and apply ED. I think you already know that your SAT II's could be better and that your GPA won't do a whole lot to help. But you definitely have a chance--good luck!

I'm not ENTIRELY set on it...somebody told me recently that their undergraduate sucks. Don't know how much he knows, but for me right now, it's either JHU versus some random instate college

well.... you may have a chance, but to be honest, your app looks kinda weak unless you're applying for some unknown field.

go ED.. its your best shot.

your EC's are not impressive and they NEED to be to cover up that CR (overall too if you're choosing a popular field), unimpressive AP tests and SAT IIs...

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but its so lame to have someone sugar coat crap when you need the truth and not get disappointed later.

The thing about ED is that I want to retake both my SATs and SATii's and I don't think I can do that before I have to send in my app

bump......
