i would really try to bring that SAT up. It will really hurt your chances. Also, your ECs are a little thin.

Your ACT is great, but your SAT IIs are lacking. Does Stanford require SAT IIs if you take the ACT?

Are you guys talking about the SAT I or II? I was thinking with my ACT score, the SAT I wouldn't matter. As for the SAT II, i didnt know if they needed the scores??

jcll2002: By EC's being thin, you mean i dont have enough? i should of done more EC's?

Oh, disregard my comment about SAT btw, I missed your ACT score. I'm just saying that from looking at your ECs I can only tell that you like basketball, that's about it. There's not that much there besides a few clubs, work experience (great though, that's besides the point), and basketball stuff. If you really love basketball, then I would write about it in the essay because that seems to be your main EC activity.

I dont know. Maybe someone else can build on what I'm trying to say?

jcll2002: ok if you can see that basketball is the main part to my EC, then thats perfect. I was thinking of centralizing my app around basketball since its the one thing that has played a major roll in my life. good or no?

yeah thats great!

EC's are enough, don't sweat that. You don't need a laundry list, contrary to popular belief.

So besides what i need to improve..what r my chances at stanford with what i have listed above...??

Was your courseload rigorous enough? Seems as if you've only taken about 3-4 APs

I'd say it's a high reach.

I have taken ~8 AP Classes

I have taken Practically all the AP and Honors Courses allowed in my school...

Have you already applied or are you a junior?

EC's are good, I disagree with others criticizing them. Admittedly they're not the most multifaceted, but they show passion for something and the service in particular is something they will look highly upon. Don't worry about being the treasurer of any bs clubs quite yet (although increased involvement wouldn't hurt, of course). I'm just not sure that your test scores are high enough. What are your AP scores? 32 ACT and 6x0 SAT II's are not HYPS level. That's being realistic. However if tests go up (significantly) you could have a chance.
