my chances for accelerated/premed

I'm a white male from new jersey, living in east brunswick

colleges i might go to for premed-
rice- probably not, but first choice
northwestern- see above
rutgers- its in new brunswick- would you go?
UCLA- this is disappointing so far
cornell- see above
wake forest
emory

Also, looking at my stats, can anybody tell me some of those 8 year programs for college/ medical school. I'll take a seven year program, but high school was a b*tch and i would like to slow it down for a while.

Stats
gpa- 3.85
Wgpa- 4.25
rank- top 10

SAT's 2190
SAT 2- bio- 760, calc 710, chem- 750

7 AP Classes
5's on Calc, computer science, biology, chemistry,
4's on Art History, APUSH
i might take one more just to get the national AP thingy

EC's
Varsity Track 4 years, co captain
Key Club- treasurer
science team- 3 years
IPLE- won nationals, been in for 3 years

Awards- few community service awards
published in some stupid small magazines
few department awards in science and math
BIGGEST ONE- sixth place in county in 200m- its a big county, fastest in school for 100, 200, and anchor for 4X100 relay- my best 100 time was 10.91

Community Service-
Buddy Ball- 200 hours
Library- 100 hours
animal shelter- 100 hours
soup kitchen- 100 hours
Tutor- 200 hours
hospital-200 hours- i would have done more, but the stuff was just so
pointless- handing out blankets, saying high to people who walk in
other stuff- 100 hours
I would be more consistent, but my community doesn't really offer a lot of programs

Work experience-
In the past two summers I have worked at Daisy Camp as a counselor, helping out mentally and physically challenged children

Went to nih and did some research stuff

Difficulties- I'm gay

Hook- I want to leave new jersey? none

oh yeah- can you give me statistics- like 10-15%, instead of that reach/match stuff

bump .

"hospital-200 hours- i would have done more, but the stuff was just so
pointless- handing out blankets, saying high to people who walk in"

u dont wanna be a doctor

u just killed ur chances there

I agree with LuckMC11... if you want to get into a competitive combined program, DO NOT tell them your hospital volunteer work was pointless. A lot of people have similar hospital volunteer experiences but you have to find a way to put a positive spin on it.

not gonna be very easy with that attitude towards hospital volunteering...as luckmc11 said right there, ya killed yer chances, at least for accel med. If it doesn't show through in yer essays, it'll show through in yer interview.

and accel med is quite a bit easier then the regular premed. Premed's go through tons more stress, so you won't be goin' through the hs hell if you go accel

bleh Hospital volunteering blows. You don't have to like volunteering at the hospital to want to be a doctor.

y would u do something that u dont like to do?

''i would have done more, but the stuff was just so
pointless- handing out blankets, saying high to people who walk in"

You guys can't just assume this guy does not want to be a doctor. First off, doctors do not hand out blankets or say high to people who walk in; that's what nurses and secretaries are for.

well that shows he doesnt want to even be in the hospital

I don't think anybody says "high" to people who walk in.

You don't sound very enthusiastic about applying to college, but it does look like you have a lot of community service (sum: 1000 hours?), so I would assume you do at least care about the community.
Make sure you spell correctly on your app, because spelling "Hi" as "High" is pretty bad.

Don't show up to the interview "hi" because you may act weird and might reek of smoke.
