<p>You look like a strong applicant, if you went ED you’d really have a great chance IMO. I can’t really tell you about the English department or anything as I applied for Physics, but if you go out of your way to explain why you’re majoring in English and what you’ve done to make yourself the best you possibly can go I don’t think there’s anything stopping you from getting in.</p>

<p>Oh, I didn’t see you were taking a gap year. I’m guessing you already know this, but take full advantage of the year to do something productive. Ideally do something you can relate to your future academic interests. I would guess if you can do that, your chances will be very good.</p>
