I am a junior in an american high school right now. I am extremely interested in staying international relations at a european university. I think I would like to either work for the United Nations or maybe the american foreign service. Currently, I have an unweighted 3.97 GPA and I don't know what my weighted GPA is, but I have gotten a's in the six ap classes I have taken. I have been on my high school ski team for the past 3 years and I have also been on the soccer team for 3 years.

I am fluent in spanish because after my sophomore year, I studied spanish at the complutense university in Madrid. Next year I am going to join my high schools nationally recognized constitution team. I got about 2150 on my SAT test.

What are my chances to get into either the University of St Andrews, LSE, and also Sciences Po. Also which one of these universities is the best to study international relations?

Thank you

Does anybody have any ideas about what my chances might be?

I personally would go for LSE :)

Uk schools place a much greater emphasis on grades than US ones so if you have stellar grades+ an excellent personal statement and a strong teacher rec, you’ll very likely be a strong candidate. Then again, LSE’s acceptance rate is rather low and it’s almost as hard to get into as oxbridge. Still, no harm trying :)

Good luck!

Like chasingclouds said, LSE is very competitive. Unlike unis in USA, LSE often requires applicants to have an interview. i.e. you must pass the first round on paper in order to get a place. You’ve got to remember that the english education system is generally regarded by the Brits to be “harder” than the American system. So they might require a higher GPA compared to the average american uni. In terms of ECs, English unis dont really care that much as long as your personal statement is good and shows passion for your course and your grades are good than you should be fine.

Thanks guys for the help. Do
You know which of these schools has the best international relations program? I hear that sciences Po allows for your 3rd you to study at another university in another country. So if I were able to get in that would be very interesting.
