Im a junior in high school, im 16 and have around a 3.5 gpa. I will only have 3 AP Classes next year, Physics, Econ and
physchology. I want to get into electrical engineering, i know alot about electronics and have built my own, im talking really complex things, however i know i still need to get my degree. I am worries because next year im only going to PRE-Cal and i feel like that is going to get me denied to engineering programs since i have to take calculus 1 my first year. Am i wrong or right?
PS My grades this year have been great, all A’s all year. 98 in algebra 2.
Home State? Which schools are looking at? How much can you afford? Large/Small/LAC/Private/Public/Urban/Rural? SAT/ACT scores? Taking Pre-calculus in your Senior year is not ideal, but it should not be too detrimental to your admission chances depending upon which schools you are targeting. Most engineers end up taking Calc in college anyways so you will not be that far behind.
I live in california, I’m looking at UCR, Cal state fullerton, and some others. I mainly first want to know what my options are based on my gpa and classes, then i can worry about the rest.
