So I applied for Purdue on the last day of March, and sent my SAT scores. My transcripts are still waiting to go through, however, my SAT scores have already been received. I'm currently a male second semester High School senior. I applied to Purdue University's College of Liberal Arts, Law & Society Major, which would fall under a Sociology Bachelors degree in the end.

As far as my SAT scores s go, I didn't do too well; total, I scored 1380 on my second try. My writing was 480, and my critical reading was 490. My math was 410 (I've never been good at math). I didn't particularly bother taking the ACT.

My GPA is fairly okay, averaging out around a B. As of last semester, my unweighted GPA is at 3.2. Before that, it was a bit higher, but I screwed up a little bit last semester; I'm hoping to make up for that this semester.

Concerning my ethnicity, I'm very mixed. I intentionally withheld the fact that I do have quite a bit of white heritage, instead opting to shine my more "ethnic" side, so I checked African American and Native American, as well as Hispanic in hopes of helping my chances.

Lastly, I've applied late, which honestly, is my biggest concern. This late in the game, what do you think my chances are?

That means ~0-20% chance to get in. Your best bet to attend Purdue is now go to a CC with an articulation agreement to Purdue and then transfer into it.

That’s true, but to my knowledge, theres still quite a bit of room left in the course I applied for, which I would guess would help my chances out–along with my ethnicity. I know of someone who got into purdue on a 1200, which is worse than mine, and I’m pretty sure their ethnicity had something to do with it. I hate to say or even fathom that ethnicity is a big factor, but unfortunately, I’d be willing to argue it. That being said, I doubt SAT scores play as big of a role as you’re making it out to be. I don’t mean to seem disrespectful or rude, but I’m just trying to get where you’re coming from.

Could anyone possibly offer a second opinion?

Let me add in addendum (I’ll also edit my post):

Extracurriculary, I’m a musician, I was on a ski team for a long time, NHS, etc.
