My chances of getting into Yale?

I am an Iranian-American, fluent in Farsi, English, and French. I scored a 2030 on the SAT (750 on Writing, 700 on Critical Reading, and 580 on Math) and a 29 on the ACT with Writing. My current GPA is a 3.5.

There isn't much I can put on my application when it comes to extracurriculars. I want to be a lawyer, so I've been interning at a public defender's office to get work experience. I've also spent the past two summers in Switzerland attending a language school to improve on my French.

I know that my Math and ACT scores aren't very impressive, and I only take two AP courses (English and Economics). I was wondering what my odds were of getting into Yale, or at least of being waitlisted?

No extra curriculars, relatively low GPA, lower than bottom accepted percentile of SAT and ACT, …

Don’t waste the application fee.

I figured. My one extracurricular is my school’s honor council (basically a disciplinary committee), but other than that I’m lacking in that area. Thanks for the reply :)

I apologize if my reply sounds callous, but we both know that Yale isn’t realistic. That doesn’t mean you can’t get into a great college though!

Oh, I know. My sights are set more on Northeastern or possibly Boston University (though that one might be a reach). It’s my parents who are desperate for me to apply to an Ivy, so I’ve been doing research to convince them that my odds are low / nonexistent. I appreciate your honesty!

You’re not a bad candidate at all, but Ivies are out of the question for 99% of the general high school population. Like you said, Northeastern and BU are much more realisitic, and still great schools.
