I’m a high school senior who has started on college apps.
My grades have been all A’s freshman and sophomore year, and I was ranked #1 in my class in my old school
Then I went to NCSSM and got a mix of A’s and B’s (more B’s).
My cumulative GPA at NCSSM is 4.4 and at my old school, my unweighted GPA was 4.0 and my weighted GPA was a 5.0
My super scored SAT is 2190( 800 math, 710 writing, 680 reading)
My SAT Math 2 is an 800, and I will take the SAT physics October of senior year and realistically, I think I’ll get somewhere between 750-780
My EC’s include:
- Member of the varsity track team at NCSSM and JV team at old school and I qualified for the conference meet junior year (freshman to junior years)
- Founder and President of the Math Club at my old school. It was also the only math club in the school system; I helped in organizing meetings and topics as well as setting up competitions (sophomore year)
- Voluntary Service at local Elementary School as science olympiad coach. The team had won first place their first time in the regional competition (sophomore year)
- Volunteered at a local library in a summer program to foster interest in books and science for kindergarteners. I acted in plays, showed kids science experiments, set up events. (summer before junior year)
- Got into the research in mathematics program junior year third trimester, summer before senior year, and first-trimester senior year. My research partner and I are exploring a problem in graph theory and will be competing in Siemens and Intel.
- President and club council representative of the Presidential fitness club, which is a club focusing on training and dieting. (senior year)
The colleges I’m thinking about are:
MIT
Stanford
UC Berkeley
Caltech
Georgia Tech
Carnegie Mellon
NC State
What do you think my chances are at each of these?
