Thanks for the helpful advice. I’ve never really made my own resume, any specific formatting that’d be preferable?

I visited the USNA today. Did the admissions brief and tour. The admissions officer told me that for the ACT they look at only the Math and Reading, not the English. Whistle Pig, where did you see they look at English?

you got it wrong lakeerie - its math and english --NOT READING

Ditto … agree w/ guest. There IS a reading score, but it doesn’t count.

Whadya think of the Yard? While Mids might quibble … pretty cool, imo.

One of the places that is absolutely cooler being from there than being there, probably. But it’s the shared experience with like minded, outstanding young patriots that makes it so great looking back.

That makes sense since the reading is a quite a bit easier than the English. I guess the admissions officer was wrong then. She seemed confident when she said reading and math.

I loved the Academy. It was actually my second time going, but I saw it from a whole different perspective. I really like the atmosphere, the buildings, etc.

Well, if it was a young officer, realize none of them are “professional admission counselors.” They are there are assignment coming from somewhere else, and headed somewhere else. They do a terrific job, but it’s only a momentary billet. Still, it might just be a “misspeak.” In any case, guest has it correct, I believe.

Alright I’ll take your guys’ word for it.

Now its time to get the writing going!

In the next few weeks I’ll be contacting my BGO and Congressman. Would any of you guys be willing to read over my letters if I email them to you or something? That’d be very helpful!

Some good news to help my cause. I was elected VP of my high school’s Student Council!
