Its too early to say considering you haven’t taken any standard tests.
Shoot for GAtech and UIUC.
MIT and Caltech are out of reach for pretty much everyone within the human realm…

yup imakebots… and you codeguy!

@garggaurav I believe that your response is quite logical and makes sense. Probably after doing undergrad, doing research work, getting a green card, going for masters/PhD at MIT would seem to be a better way. I looked up at UIUC, and GAtech and I seem to like those universities, one good thing about GAtech is it is a public univ.

Thanks a lot for your response :D

@quiverfox me and codeguy have so much in similar,
check up comment #18

Is a transcript the school report card or some other attested document that consists of 9th to 12th grade in “one” document?

yeah…lol! Try UIUC, you should get in(I did at least). I’ve heard its awesome for Cs!

Both UIUC and GAtech are public universities. If I don’t get into any of my dreams, these are the two I am counting on. (Unless they reject me as well) I am applying for Computer Engineering and both are pretty good.

About transcript, I am not so sure if its the same for all schools. In my case, it is one document that has my marks for 9, ICSE, 11, 12. And alongside is the class average for all the subjects. My school does not rank.

send all years. It really helps!

Bro, you got a high chance in many universities, good ones… not cuz ur profile is all jazzed up but because one crucial statement in ur post…

“I can pay upto $200,000 for college (4 year fees), No aid required”

I am also an Indian student my prof:
SAT:2210
Toefl:115/120
SSAT
Phy - 800
Math 2 - 780
Chem- 800
10th Boards- 94%
3.8-4 GPA

International Science Olympiad 1st in State, 16th overall (2011)
Good oratory skills, participated in school plays and competitions like debate, MUN
Play Tennis n soccer
gone on nature camps

but you know what…I cant pay full fee and need high financial assistance… so basically no university is gonna be even be interested in me.

Anyways, I wish u best of luck, get above 2020 in SAT and expect a high-probability admiss. in Carnegie, Purdue, Upenn, UCLA and UCB… trust me… money matters there and they have high acceptance rate… Best of Luck bro

Hey imakebots
Firstly, don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t have any chance at a particular university.
I am sure you are aware of their holistic approach to applications.
What I mean is,
Don’t let that 60% bother you.
Let your guidance counselor explain the grade deflation system in your school.
Let her/him explain your ADD.
try to score well in your ACT and SAT subject tests.

You are focused, passionate, and determined.
Work within a timeline, and continue to show that passion.
Good grades only make up a part of your whole application. It all depends on your presentation of it.
Like you rightly said, if community service isn’t your thing, don’t bother. Pursue what interests you, and showcase it well.

@optimisticer
buddy you have got a nice profile, a couple of 800s, nice SAT, TOEFL score. You can get to nice universities. I have a friend, who required aid, yet he did not tell university nor the visa officer that he requires aid, what he did instead was, he took a student loan from India of about 30 lakhs, paid his first year college fees, then applied for aids, guess what, he got his aids staying in that specific university. And guess what, where is he? He is in Carnegie mellon university and majoring in CS, and you know that CMU is one of the top universities for a CS Major

Thanks for pointing that out, well ya I do have funds and I believe that my admission chances would be higher as I do not require any aids. I think $150,000-$200,000 is not a prob for me. I am trying to shoot for Ivies then, thanks a lot

@xNorth22 thanks for reassurance. I was extremely worried about my school grades, though I have an awesome class rank, this would certainly make my application better. CC doesn’t allow me to PM (new member of CC). sorry for that.

imakbots

3 more posts and you will be able to send PMs. So just send random Hi’s and Thankyou’s and you are good to go.

oh lol, CC is kinda weird…I haven’t seen such a forum policy elsewhere

Thanks anialways, Now I guess I could PM…

Anytime…

Very Much like me tho I have a 10 in Class X and 9.3 in class IX. And btw Imakebots, situation is even worse here, in Kerala. The problem is reflected in my 11th marks. But i have pretty good marks for the last 2 boards. :)

Even i dont have very great marks in college…But i had 10 CGPA in X and 9.6 in IX! And even i havent done any community service which i think might affect my admission chances because i rather like spending my time on knowing more about gadgets and gizmos!

with a 1900 in SAT, really good school transcripts, and an extremely good art portfolio, how far can I go as far as universties in the US are concerned?
