My sophomore year GPA was terrible due to family/personal issues and general hatred of high school.

You posted the same message on a number of other
College Confidential school sites asking opinions of
what your chances for admission are at those other
colleges [Emory, UWashington, American, UWisconsin].

Where does Richmond fall in your preferences?

Emory probably won't be as hard since i am only applying for Oxford, their two year campus which a whole lot easier to get into than the main campus. Ultimately, I am just hoping my freshmen college gpa, my sats, and my extracurriculars can get me in to my schools of choice.

I'm not sure what Oxford stats are, but I would count you out of Emory most likely, unless you retest and bring your numbers up. If you're a male, I would give you 70% odds at UR, but if you're female, I'd probably give you about60%. I would recommend not submitting your ACT scores and perhaps using an essay as a way to write about your struggles sophomore year and how you overcame them. Should be a good way to explain away the GPA and give good insight into who you are and what makes you tick.

I think you're into Richmond, like flint. Especially if you can pay. Maybe Oxford, probly not Emory. Johns Hopkins will require a real leap of faith in the absence of a compelling story about your sophomoric issues.
