Hello,
I'm finishing up my college list, and I'd appreciate advice. A little about me:
Attend one of the best private schools in Illinois
GPA: 3.95 W (school doesn't rank or do UW GPA)
ACT: 28
I will need some financial aid if a college isn't close to around $20,000-$25,000 a year.
I probably should go to a smaller school as I tend to struggle in massive classes.
By smaller school I mean around 5,000-10,000 students, however, I am open to the idea of a large university.
Location: Anywhere except the deep South. The Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, and Florida region are all places I could attend school.
It'd be nice to have competitive sports teams, but just a decent amount of school spirit would suffice.
I want to study abroad in England for a year.
I'm interested in majoring in biology or chemistry, with future plans of becoming a podiatrist.

Here's my list at the moment:
University of Minnesota
University of San Diego
Oregon State University
Butler University
Boston College
University of Kansas
University of Wisconsin
possibly Seattle University or University of Miami (FL)

If there are schools you could suggest or comments on my list, all would be appreciated as I start applying.
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

Although, I promote Wake Forest a lot, I think it could be a good fit for you. We are standardized testing optional, have a gorgeous climate, small school, and we have our own study abroad house in London (the Worrell House). I will say, that if you are lazy, it probably is not a good idea, because it is difficult and there is a reason I will be staying up most of tonight doing work :)

I take back one of my statements. I’m not lazy, I get very few hours of sleep due to staying up for hw, however, in a class of 300 people I’d zone out. Also, thank you for the post. :)

This is the one statement noone has addressed: “I will need some financial aid if a college isn’t close to around $20,000-$25,000 a year.”

I don’t know if you are needy or if your family just can’t afford a full pay college (like many other families), but you need to do a little investigation on your own. Oregon State and U Kansas would be ~$32K, U Wisconsin would be ~$34K, U Miami over ~$50K, U San Diego $48K, and those are just the ones I checked. You won’t get any FA for public OOS colleges beyond Stafford Loans. Most people look at their state colleges first since you get in-state rates, and Illinois has some good ones.

Thanks for the suggestions. Holy Cross was a school I was looking at instead of BC. I looked at Clemson and thought it might be a tad too rural for me. UIUC isn’t bad, but my sibling applied there a year ago and the cost was almost equivalent to some of my out of state schools. Please keep the advice coming, its really helping me finalize my list.
