I also read your other thread but didn't comment then. But I'm really happy for your son. I'm a student at Duke right now, and he seems like the kid we love to have; I hope he'll join us next year if everything works out in the financial aid department!!

I'm glad the admissions office got this one right! I guess they do that every once and a while.

Congratulations to your son! Reading your "dreams" post I just kept thinking "if the admissions office at Duke only knew how much he wants this". And now it seems maybe they did.

This is berurah's son. I can't express to you all in words how much it means to know that this many people support me and care about my future. Your kind words and unwavering support have made this process significantly more tolerable and have softened the blow of the inevitable disappointments one faces during this particular process. This site and my family have been the only real sources of support I have had since I began applying to college. I feel a certain kinship with the students alongside whom I've experienced this grueling process, and I truly wish the best for you all and your children.

Rock on berurahs son. And thanks for letting us know by the heart in your words that we were right all along - those who predicted your eventual success, those who congratulated your actual success, and those who did both.

BTW, berurah's son, yours is the first post on this board that has brought tears to my very cynical eyes. You are a mensch. And if I say that, the biggest WASP in the universe, well then...

This is the best news of the week for us all. You are going to be too excited to fall asleep tonight guys. So as soon as you have recovered your speech Berurah, give us the blow-by-blow details.
