My Experience At UCLA This Week (UCLA Transfers READ)

Pizza in Westwood = Lamonica’s
Next door = Mongol’s Mongolian BBQ

All you ever need.

how is calabasas?

why would you go to calabasas?

I pity guys who go to hooters :frowning: I went to the hooters in SM when I was 16 and all the girls were nasty. Either way, the food is horrible, and I don’t go to restaurants to see insecure girls flaunt what they don’t have haha.

As for calabasas, it’s just a really nice quiet city with some really good restaurants, bars and shopping (if you are a girl at least).

Santa Monica is cool if you know where to go. I have a friend who lives in SM and we go to his house and walk to a few bars every month or so. A really good time. You will really miss out if you are dumb enough to only hang out in westwood and beverly hills while in LA.

agreed

mr. noodle & diddy reese. they are right next door to eachother. soo good.

I live in Woodland Hills… The SFV is horrible, man. So damn monotonous. I don’t plan on ever leaving Westwood when i start in the Fall.

Agree, especially when one is over 21 there are a lot of places to go out in every area of LA. One of my favorite(if not my favorite) lounges/dance club/bar is in Santa Monica.

Snack, you lack knowledge of your surroundings then. Granted woodland hills is a bit lamer than other parts of the valley, it still has a few cool places. The SFV as a whole has plenty of variety and offers a great change than the typical westwood and beverly hills layout. You clearly have not spent that much time in those parts because it is no less monotonous than the SFV.

Since when is LA such a cultured city?

It’s relatively cultured, no different than most big cities. Unless you are a massive ****** and think places like San Fransisco are metropolitans with “true culture” ugggg…

I think there’s a distinction between a cultured city and cultured people. And I would tend to agree that the people from LA are less cultured than other big cities. Does the city offer culture? Yes only because its so large and you have all these areas ie Venice to Hollywood to Pasadena, but what difference does it make when the people in a given area aren’t “cultured”(if that make sense, probably doesn’t since I talk out of my a**.)

I know the difference. Please list some cities where the people are “cultured” and what makes them so? Like I said, I am waiting for you to talk about San Fransisco and point to liberal ideologies as “cultured” and the ivy elites or some other nonsense.

Hijynx, i’ve lived in the SFV my entire life. Maybe that’s the reason i don’t plan on leaving Westwood, but the Valley is just one gigantic suburb. The city offers much more to do IMO.

So have I. Though I am unsure how your social life is or if you have really found all the cool places to go. Doesn’t matter either way :)

Haha, thanks for doubting my social life. And yes, i’ve had a social life that has led me on adventures all over the SFV. I went to Calabasas High, and i really can’t understand why you would want to hang out there. Agoura is ok, wouldn’t want to hang out there unless it was for a house party or something. Just a bunch of snobs IMO. I just find it to be a gigantic bubble, and it was the biggest reason as to why i didn’t want to go to UCLA in the first place. However the city is waaaay different than the Valley, so it’s all good.

i live in the SFV and its SO freaking boring, NOTHING to do there! ill rather live in westwood lol…

I didn’t doubt anything, but its possible you weren’t a very social person naturally.

I like agoura. Canyon Club is a really good time. I like candlelight a lot too. Calabasas is a great place for a sunday afternoon. I go running there a lot and its super nice. There are some snobs in the area, I know. I went to CHS as well. I guess it all depends on who you know though. I have met plenty of people around UCLA and the city who are just as snobby if not more. Even worse they find themselves superior to people from the SFV because they are “in the city” lol.

Ah yeah, i feel ya. When did you graduate CHS? I was class of '07. Yeah, Canyon Club is a great venue, it just seems like too far of a drive from UCLA to the Valley for me to want to hang out there. I’m also not bringing my car, so i don’t really have that option at all anyway haha.

holy ****. i went to high school in agoura and all we did were drugs. it wasn’t a matter of being unsocial, it was a matter of all the shops closing at 9 o-clock at night. once you turn 21, there is no reason to stay in the area. i think crown and anchor is the only bar in the area that you will actually find young people. going down south to the valley IS better (there are a lot of good restaurants and hookah bars) but hollywood beats that ten-fold. great for you guys if you find this area cool; I think that’s extremely rare if you’re under the age of 45.
