My favorite book is...

@ mickjagger, I was referring to S. E. Hinton’s The Outsiders, but I loved it because it was so poignant and memorable. For some reason, the story spoke to me.

The Kite Runner
A Thousand Splendid Suns
My Sister’s Keeper

Catcher in the Rye is great. I’m also currently reading Then We Came to the End, by Joshua Ferris. It’s hilariously awesome. Have any of you heard of it or read it?

Just read “Stranger in a Strange Land” (Heinlein’s uncut version that was released much later), it was awesome. Has to be one of my favorites.

And to think, I first heard about this in Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”

I just finished The Beach by Alex Garland.

The book was absolutely fantastic. One of the most fluent books ever. I felt like I was in the story and knew the characters and everything.

I loved the Great Gatsby

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Kite Runner

Best: Chronicles of a Death Foretold by Garcia Marquez
The Assault by Mulisch
A People’s History by Zinn
Worst: The Woman in the Dunes by Kobo Abe.

I’m reading The Great Gatsby. Seems very… soap opera-ey.

LOTR/Once and Future King/Franny and Zooey

Mother Night and Good Omens. They have absolutely nothing in common, but they’re both amazing!

The Night trilogy. It really makes you think about life and the meaning of life. I am currently trying to read the Feynman Lectures; I just never get the time to just sit and read these days.

The Bell Jar has left me feeling depressed

Trial by Journal by Kate Klise.
It’s kind of a children’s book (meant for 7th graders, probably) but I’m in love with it. I will read it again and again and again and again for the rest of my life.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. So funny! So punny! So whimsical! I finished it with the biggest grin on my face. It is a truly enjoyable book.
I also periodically find myself thinking about Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The plot is alright, but setting is mesmerizing, and draws me back to the book again and again.

 • To Kill a Mockingbird. Scout’s voice is great.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
The Great Gatsby (currently reading)
1984

Fear and Loathing… Any of them

Agreed .

Probably 1984

I really want to read 1984. It seems like a great read.
