My favorite book is...

That’s pretty interesting; I haven’t read anything but Ender’s Game (which is fantastic), but people I know who’ve read more of the series seem to hate the sequels.

Same as above in that a lot of HP fans I know seem to dislike the 5th book in particular, since Harry was so angsty. It’s definitely a turning point in the series…personally, it’s not my favorite or least favorite.

The Firm and the Bible

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

1984

Animal Farm

also a bunch of typical love stories <3

The Catcher in the Rye

^ Great choice. I’ll also like to add The Road. Manly tears were nearly shed the day I finished this book.

I don’t really like liking books. My favorite one is maybe a portrait of the artist as a young man. Or my name is Asher Lev. I like Dubliners too, which is a collection of short stories. Also infinite jest, though i never finished it.

^/^^ I don’t remember when I first posted in this thread or what I posted, but I love The Road, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (well, what I got, anyway). And David Foster Wallace’s writing style, even though I’ve only read his nonfiction/short stories. Infinite Jest intimidates me.

Anyone say Jared Diamond?

The Tender Bar by JD Moehringer (a nonfiction memoir, but it’s just sublime)
