My Fellow EA'ers, it is time to rejoice!

How does everybody feel? Any thoughts, hopes?

I feel like I just wasted $75.

will it cause a problem if the payment was sent at 11/02/2010, one minute late?

It’s a load off my shoulders for sure. I’m really pleased with how the essays came together. If I get an acceptance letter in December I might just call my college application process over. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that hopefully they put as much stock in “fit” and essays as they say they do. Chicago looks like it’s en route to becoming as selective as the upper Ivy League and I’d really hate to have a few B’s skewer me.

Relieved. There were just so many essays for this school…But I liked writing for the supplement. It’s a risky essay, but I still had fun with it. I think my Why Chicago is going to be the one causing my rejection though…more so than my grades and SATs…

I feel well. My interview is next Thursday.

What are your grades and SATs (M+CR) ?

I’m also relieved. I’m mostly worried about my Why Chicago also. I believe that i wrote genuinely, but not creatively enough.

I felt like no matter what I wrote, 1 million other people are going to write the same thing (for Why Chicago). I mainly focused on the Common App essay and the main supplement essay (though I didn’t spend that much time on it, as you will see in the next paragraph). Sure, it’s possible to stand out on the Why Chicago essay (a quote from a uchicago.edu sidebar told us how one person dissected the student newspaper’s front page and how each part made him want to go there), but I don’t think it’s something to get totally worked up over. there are other areas with infinitely more potential to be creative.

I’m really happy with how my UC essay turned out, considering I started it at 8 PM last night (Inspiration never truly came, so I had to force it a little bit in crunch time, though it was better than I expected. No, I do not recommend this strategy to anyone who wants to keep their sanity :P). I actually feel a lot better about getting in now than I did just a couple days ago. Not getting my hopes up, but I’m so happy it’s over.

Good luck to everyone!

I am really nervous, I can’t wait for Dec. 15. My biggest worry is how my essays stand up, I think I’ll be fine grades and SAT wise. Anybody feel like swapping EA essays (it’ll basically be like a more advanced form of chancing)?

I would swap with you, but my lack of posts on this board might be off-putting.
Like everyone else, I just sent in my application yesterday(I don’t know how to offer any kind of proof besides my UChicago essay).

What topic did you choose? I chose the dissolve essay.

^Same here :)

I did the dissolve essay also. What were your solvent and solute?(If you don’t mind me asking)

Hey do we get shirts if we sent in our scores? :D

I don’t feel comfortable sharing. If you had more posts, I would tell you. Sorry. I am curious what most people chose. My guess:

 1. x
 2. two people
 3. dissolve
 4. make your own
 5. honesty

I will set up some kind of poll

Yeah I don’t feel comfortable sharing either. :frowning: Because the RDers might see.

That generally is what PM and email is for…anybody gonna take me up on my offer? if so PM me and we’ll swap.

I chose the “two types of people in the world” essay. Came out well.

i chose “two types of ppl” aswell :)

any one from outside USA here ? i am .

when do you think alumns will contact us ? or do we contact them ?
