My previous 2 years in college were terrible, I practiced poor study habits, I partied way too much and at the wrong time, and now I'm suffering for it. I just can't seem to focus when I need to. My current GPA is 2.1 and I'm embarrassed. I did some soul searching and I'v made a conscious decision to raise my GPA up so I could go to medical school. I really need help or tips on how to raise my GPA and is it possible to do it with 2 years left of college and still get accepted. Also whats a good way to get experience in hospitals? is voluntary work counted as experience? Lastly I really want to work in a hospital but if being a doctor/physician does not work are there any good hospital jobs that are health/medical related.

2 years in with a 2.1 gpa will likely make it impossible to get accepted to medical school. You will want to re-think your future plans, but in terms of raising your gpa, hopefully you’ve learned after 2 years what not to do. It just takes better study habits. Maybe, Physician Assistant or something.

Med schools are VERY selective. You may get that 2.1 up, but maybe not enough to get accepted. Work your butt off and get it up, and also try shadowing a doctor/working at a hospital etc. They like experience. Get all the required courses done, and try doing things that distinguish you. Do some research as to what your top grad schools like, and work on that. It’s VERY hard, but not impossible. Sorry I can’t be too much help.
Good luck!

Try to bring them up but if you can’t get in you should seriously consider going into another country for med school. It’s not uncommon at all, a lot of my family members did it at high end med schools in Mexico and now they’re making the same amount of money as doctors that got their med school done here. But yeah its less of a hassle than it is here its pretty ironic because a lot of Americans get their credentials abroad while foreigners come here to get their’s. Seriously its the best option for your circumstances, best of luck!
