my keyboard

the letter "m" fell off my keyboard. is there anywhere i can go to get that fixed? is it dumb to glue it on?

Is there a reason to post it in the UCLA thread? I think you would have been much better off in a technology website...

Get a new keyboard, they only cost $5ish.

i have a laptop..
and i dont see why i cant ask ppl here
unless you all seriously object...

Nah don't glue it on. You should have sort've hook thingy where it connects to the keyboard or some sort of plastic thing (for lack of better word) that latches onto said on keyboard.

it broke.
okay, i guess i'll try to bring it to the store or something..

HAHAHAAHAAA

Take it to STC, they'll look at it.

If your latch broke, you could call the manufacturer for a new one, if it's simple to hook back on. Otherwise, you could wait until winter break and send in your laptop or something.

did you break it? because I remembered reading this post about this girl using her roommate's laptop while she's asleep and one of the keys fell off...== maybe you are the victim

The girl you're referring to is post #6.

yahooo, you dirty rat.

it would be pretty funny if he/she? were the victim

haha no im not. and yes the latch is broken

If you can't put it back on by some firm pressure, you'll probably need a new keyboard. For laptops, they are only about $35, and are very easy to put on. If you aren't super comfortable doing it yourself (it involves unscrewing a few covers on your laptop and manipulating the small cord that plugs it in), take it to STC and they can do it for a small fee (much much cheaper than the computer store in Ackerman).

When I worked at STC (many moons ago), I replaced so many laptop keyboards it wasn't even funny. Usually the conversation went like this...

Them: I spilled something on my keyboard and now it doesn't work anymore
Me: what did you spill on it?
Them: Oh, just some soda - its really sticky
**Me:/b Are you sure it was just soda? :D
