My mom just made me go buy her cigarettes.

I've been 18 for about a month, and today my mom asked me to go pick her up some cigarettes. I bluntly refused and said that I wouldn't, but she made me. When I told the cashier "I need two packs of virginia slims luxury light 120's" the people behind me in the line kinda snickered like they thought they were for me.

If you're 18, are you willing to buy cigs for your parents?

Uhhhh the thought hasn’t particularly crossed my mind since my parents don’t smoke, but if they asked me to, I guess I would. Because even though smoking’s a lame habit, I know that they’ll just get mad at me for refusing their request. So I’d go on ahead and feed into their Marlboro cravings, albeit unwillingly.

1. My parents would never smoke.

2. Unless they paid me a LOT, and I mean LOTTTT, I never would, ever.

3. I would convince them not to.

Hahahaha I never thought of this! Both my parents are avid smokers. I’m not 18 for a couple months yet, but if they ever do ask I’ll probably do it yet feel/look really weird doing so, since I look ~2-3 years young for my age.

I would never want to do that. Ever.

Seriously I got more than annoyed a few years ago when I found a packet of cigarettes in our house (random place I must say) and if either of my parents asked me to do such thing I would probably start an argument. Which is pretty much one of my ‘specialties’ at home.

^I love arguments. It would start A LARGE argument.

Wow. If my mom smoked, I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t ask me to go buy them. If my dad did, he might, and then I’d shut myself up in my room so he couldn’t make me.

If you were going to the store, I don’t see the big deal. Are you really embarrassed by what some minimum wage employees at the grocery store think?

^I’m not, but still I wouldn’t pay any money to have someone gradually kill themselves.

Yes, yes I am.

Well, my parents will never smoke.

I would say no.

I would say hell no.

I would say f*** no.

I would start to yell at them.

I hate smoking.

^^***** stole my joke

^That seemed like a you joke.

^Was that a statement or a question?

It was clearly a question.

If my mom asked me t o buy some for her… I’d probably stay somewhere else for the night, needing to recover from the shock.

My dad happened to come in as I was reading this thread, so I asked him if he would make me buy him cigarettes if he smoked. He said no (which I figured).

My mom probably would try to make me, but I’m pretty sure I would just take the verbal beating and not buy them.

My parents don’t smoke. If they did, I don’t think they would ask me to go buy them cigs, because my mother had to sometimes buy cigs for her mother until she quit and she never liked that and my father just, I dunno, wouldn’t.

Still confused
