My quest for the 36 has begun. I need help though.

Read science carefully? And you still finished? Most people can't do that.

Its usually simpler to just read the questions and look up the info. I can consistently get 36s doing that. However, the stupid June test had a harder science section than normal.

Okay I just got in PR, Kaplans, Barrons, Real ACT and SAT Blue book. It had been a while and the damn hurricane messed me up. Best preparation strategies please? Keep in mind what I have to work with.

You'd be surprised at how well "listening" on the grammar section can work out. I usually go by ear and I got a 35 on English. Good luck!

You just have to practice. There isn't much to learn because the material is so easy. Just learn how to pace yourself and to do it in the time available. The reading and science is whats gonna kill your score. You should be able to score a 35-36 in math/english already or you probably won't achieve your goal.

Yes Math and english are achievable. It is reading and science I am worried about. English and Math you just need to know stuff. If you know that then it is easy. Reading and Science gives you questions based on information presented before you. That is why it is much harder to prepare for. What I am asking is if I should take the 3 prep tests from Real ACT before studying to know where I stand? Or jusrt take 1? I am gonna try to get started tomorrow, maybe tonight. I am preparing for the December one btw.

I used the Barron's book for the ACT and got a 35. I just did like two practice tests and read through the book the night before the test. Not trying to brag or anything, though that sounds in-genuine. As you probably have heard from others, I feel that it is much easier to get a high score on the ACT vs the SAT, as I had a 2070 on that...

So I am a grade a procrastinator and have to take it in feb due to the fact I am a senior. It is time to grind my *** off for hours a day. Hopefully I can achieve my goal. btw my goal is now a 34. I doubt I will get a 36 but who knows?

Those are my cold results, which are nowhere near where I need to be. Now, I remember from a while back that people were saying that PR is a beast at preping for English. Could someone confirm this. I heard about many people going from low 20s to high 30s in English using PR. Math is really easy for me at first, but towards the end is where I get stumped. What is the best way to prep for that? I listed all the books and stuff in a post up above. I plan on doing the practice SAT Math parts to get my mind ready for those hard math problems.

btw I decided to attack Math and English first. By next week, maybe even this week I will attack science and reading. I have about 5 weeks to pull this off so any and all help would be appreciated.

Also, it isn't the time constraints I am struggling with on these parts. I usually finish Englsih with about 5 minutes left and math I usually finish on the dot or a little before that. It is just the material I am struggling with. The test I took on Christmas day I don't really take seriously because I wasn't in a great test taking mood and I guessed a lot on both sections because of it.

Well please reply and give your advise. I am off to fill out my ACT registration Packett to mail in today and get 3-4 hours of sleep before school tomorrow. This is going to be a grueling 5 weeks. I hope I can pull this off.
