My SAT Plan (URGENT HELP NEEDED)

how do you suggest I go about improving my reading comprehension and vocabulary? Should I write down all the vocabulary words I don’t know? (I hate doing that, it ruins the book)

Just read:) You’ll get it from the context. If a word is bugging you afterwards, look it up. Otherwise use that Frankenstein Kaplan book that has the words defined right in it.

Hmm what are you scoring now?

^ My score was a 156. 57 in CR, 47 in Math, and a 52 in Reading. After having studied over the summer, about 5 or 6 days ago I took a practice PSAT test (A previously administered one) and got a score of 197. My CR was now a 72, my math was a 60, and my writing was a 65.

The PSAT can qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship and is good practice for the SAT, so it is definitely important to take it seriously. However, remember to see the forest for the trees. There are students who have the scholarship and are not accepted into top tier schools, and vice versa.

Pick a plan that you will stick to, and don’t burn yourself out too quickly. Be sure to include time to do all the tests provided by the College Board itself (blue book and questions from their website). This will help familiarize you with their actual style of testing.

Also, throw out the part of your plan that says, “Hope I will NEVER get a question similar to the one I got wrong again…” Why? Because if you really figure out and understand why you miss a question, you should never get that question, or any variation of that question, wrong again. The point of doing practice tests is to ferret out and learn what you don’t know, because what you do know, you already know. :)

don’t read frankenstein.
I read it. And my sat score didn’t do anything amazing.

The 2400 is a great book.
