FWIW, most of the African American kids on college confidential I’ve seen get in, have a SAT math plus reading of at least 1300.

SAT’s are very low, decent GPA, also get that Math II SAT score up.

yeah I have to agree, you SAT is really low.

try the ACT…since you do well in your subject tests…perhaps that format would work better for you…apply to a good spread of schools…re admission difficulty

You are signed up for a challenging senior year and your AP scores and SATIIs show you learn well–try not to spread yourself too thin fall of senior year so you can focus on your first semester grades…

get the ACT Red book and recognize that the exam is very different than the SAT…but perhaps better suited to you…you won’t know till you try. One of my sons got the same score basically on both SAT and ACT…he went to Duke…the other son got a much better score on the ACT

remember that Duke is a reach for most students just based on the huge numbers of applicants…so make sure to attach to some match colleges…this rule is for everyone. Build yourself a good college app list with colleges you would be proud to attend in the match category…and with a couple of reach apps
