how do i fix this. I invited her on the common app, and she accepted. then she uploaded my letter of rec, the problem being that she accidentally uploaded the wrong one that was for another student. i cant do anything and neither can she. I am applying early so what am i supposed to do?

Have her contact the admissions office at the school(s) (check their website) and explain that she made a mistake.

Then have her send out hard copies of the letter of rec. You should supply her with pre-addressed and stamped envelopes.

is that my only option? can the common app people delete it?

Try contacting them as well, though I’ve heard sometimes they can be difficult to get a hold of. But it’s certainly worth a try.

grr…k ill see what i can do.

anyone else have anyother ideas?

Go to Google and search for: Common application alternate version technology.

The first thing that will pop up is a pdf that provides instructions for creating a second common app. Not sure but it looks like it will allow you to change anything including essays that are sent with only rule being that you must first send your existing common app to one college but you could send that one off to a college that is not high on your list and perhaps one that does not even require essays.

Yes but then OP would be sending a letter of rec intended for someone else, even if just for one school.

^^
Correctamundo. Even in the “alternate versions” of the common app, the counselor rec and teachers recs still carry over. You can always change your essays or anything else, but these other items are fixed. I think you really will have to contact the common app people, explain the situtation, and get them to physically disconnect that rec so that you can then reconnect again and she can upload the correct one.
