I was selected at UC Berkeley for Fall 2015. My major is ‘Sustainable Environmental Design’.
But I need to make sure few things, before I actually start attending Cal.
Are the placements good enough and guaranteed in this major here, if I work every well here?
Is the future bright and secure enough, if ,again, I keep working well?
Not sure I can understand your post. What do you mean if you work every well?
https://career.berkeley.edu/Survey/Survey has career surveys by major, but sustainable environmental design is not listed since it is a new major.
Sorry DrGoogle. I meant to say ‘very well’. That’s an error, that seems incorrigible. I can’t find an edit option.
Looking at the UC Berkeley Sample Plan of Study for this major, I see that it is pretty light-weight for a technical degree. Searching “Sustainable Environmental Design entry level” on Indeed.com calls up only a quarter as many jobs as “Civil Engineering entry level” and 14% of the number called up by “Architecture entry level.” I’m not impressed with it for job potential.
If you are an international student, working in the US might not be an option.
hey, this is my first time posting here. I’m interested to transfer into UCB for sustainable environmental design and just wonder if it’s a highly selective major? if so, what is the competitive GPA currently? thx
@tiramisu97, your first post is a thread hijack. It’s considered impolite. Please start your own thread.
well, I’m sorry if you considered that as impolite. I just made an account here two days ago and I didn’t know the policy yet.
@tiramisu97, I thought I should point it out in case you were unaware. Fwiw, most sites have a similar policy. Good luck in your studies.
